If you are a cake-mix hater, you have got to try this cake. I’d bet that it would change your mind!!

I have made this cake multiple times over the last probably 10 years. And it still is one of my favorites. Super moist and delicious – and almost fail proof. It has sunk a little on the top a few times, but the top becomes the bottom, and no one will ever notice!! This is perfect for a summer picnic or get-together – and a sure crowd pleaser!

    Orange Cake
    from allrecipes.com

    Makes 1 10-inch bundt cake

1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
1 (3 ounce) package instant lemon pudding mix
    3/4 cup orange juice
    1/2 cup vegetable oil
    4 eggs
    1 teaspoon lemon extract
    1/3 cup orange juice
    2/3 cup sugar
    1/4 cup butter

Grease a 10 inch Bundt pan. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).

In a large bowl, stir together cake mix and pudding mix. Make a well in the center and pour in 3/4 cup orange juice, oil, eggs and lemon extract. Beat on low speed until blended. Scrape bowl, and beat 4 minutes on medium speed. Pour batter into prepared pan.

Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely.

In a saucepan over medium heat, cook 1/3 cup orange juice, sugar and butter for two minutes. Drizzle over cake.

Oooh I'd love to make that cake. It looks so delicious! But unfortunately American cake mixes and pudding mixes are terribly expensive here in the UK. Must wait til my next trip home! K x

Mmm…sounds fantastic. Maybe swapping the glaze with a vanilla sauce would make it taste like a creamsicle. I love creamsicles.

You know, i haven't seen too many desserts online flavored mainly with oranges. A shame, because it is such a beautiful taste. I love this one :)

  25. Sometimes cake mixes are perfect – like when you need an easy dessert that you'd like to jazz up without going 100% from scratch. I've had great luck with a few that I threw together in a pinch for last minute get-togethers. This one looks like a great one to try, too!

Found this via foodgawker and I'm making it this very moment…but it's my first EVER attempt at a bundt cake, so I'm a little clueless. Is this one that should be served warm, or can I refrigerate and serve it tomorrow night? Should I do the drizzle glaze thing right before serving, or is it okay to do now and refrigerate it? Help! :-P

tabithablogs – I hope I'm not too late in answering your questions! The last time I made this cake, I made it the night before, and kept it covered. I put the glaze on several hours before I served it. Hope it works out for you and that you love it like I do!

Hi, do you think this would work out okay to bake in two loaf pans instead of a bundt pan? It's easier to share with neighbors that way.
    Thanks,
    Shannon

Shannon – I've only tried it in a bundt pan, but I'm pretty sure it would work in 2 loaf pans!
