Skip the jarred version, and make it at home! This Sweet and Sour Sauce is so easy, and you probably have all of the ingredients on hand already!

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt

  1. Combine the sugar, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, soy sauce, and garlic salt in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat. Continue to cook, stirring often, until reduced and slightly thickened, about 10-12 minutes.
  3. Remove from the heat and use right away or store in the refrigerator until needed.

Recipe Notes:

The sauce will thicken up more as it sits. Once refrigerated, it will need to be reheated to a pourable consistency.
