It seems like subscription boxes are all the rage right now, and I can totally see why. If you aren’t familiar with subscription boxes, the basic gist of it is that you pay a monthly fee, and then a “box” is sent to you with products every month. Every service is different – sometimes you get sample sizes of products, sometimes you get to try things on and buy only what you want, (like StitchFix), or some – like today’s review – you get to “borrow” with the option of buying.
I was actually really excited to try out Rocksbox. What is Rocksbox, you ask?
Rocksbox is a jewelry subscription box. You pay $19 a month, and they send you a box with 3 pieces of designer jewelry. Each box is worth approximately $200. You can wear the jewelry as long as you want and then return it, or you can purchase the jewelry at a discounted rate. As soon as you send back the jewelry, they send you a new box with new pieces. Super simple, and super fun!!
I love wearing jewelry. But I am just now entering a phase in my life where it is even possible. For the last 6+ years, I’ve had a baby or toddler, and if you have or have had babies, you know that they are automatically drawn to every. piece. of. jewelry. If I decided to go the extra mile and put on jewelry, I couldn’t count on wearing it for more than 30 minutes before a baby would go grabbing at it and either pulling it off or breaking it. But now, my kids are old enough that I have finally graduated to a time when my kids don’t grab at everything. Yay!!
I am also the most indecisive person ever. I will go shopping, and I’ll sit and stare at something forever, not being able to decide if I should buy it or not. Or even worse is when I actually do go through with it and buy something, only to get it home and realize I have nothing to wear it with.
This is the biggest reason I love Rocksbox. You get a chance to wear a piece of jewelry and try it out before you decide if you want to keep it, if you don’t like it at all, or if you want to just wear it for awhile and then exchange it for something new. You seriously can’t go wrong!
I do have to mention that this is not the Target or Forever 21 jewelry that I usually buy – it’s designer, higher quality jewelry. With the higher prices to match. But I love that I can test the pieces out to decide if I really want to make that investment. Or I can wear designer jewelry for a low monthly price and then just send it back for more!! You also get a $10 Shine Spend every month – you can take $10 off if you decide to purchase any of the jewelry. It doesn’t carry over month to month, but it is $10 off if you buy!
I also love that you can build a wishlist on their site of pieces that you like. And you can request certain pieces, even pieces that you have had sent to you before that you want sent again!
Before I get to what was actually in my box, I want to let you all know that you can try Rocksbox for a month for FREE!! From now until May 8th, you can use the code tasteandtellxoxo for a free month from Rocksbox. After May 8th, you can use the same code to get 50% off your first month. If you are a jewelry lover, you’ll have so much fun with this!!
And now – here’s what I got!
GORJANA ELEA CUFF – Normal price $134/ Insider’s price $107
I love, love, love this cuff. I have a thing for cuffs, anyway, and I adore the simplicity of this piece. The only drawback is that I don’t know if I can make myself spend $107 on a bracelet, but I’m going to be wearing this thing often. And I’ll probably cry if I end up sending it back.
VANESSA MOONEY BRITTANY NECKLACE – Normal price $70/ Insider’s price $56
I wasn’t completely sure about this necklace when I first pulled it out, but after putting it on, I fell in love. It’s another simple piece (what can I say – I’m a simple girl) but I love that it is very versatile and it totally matches with my jeans and t-shirt that I wear every day. I’m very tempted to buy this one.
PERRY STREET KAYLA NECKLACE – Normal price $78/ Insider’s price $62
This is one piece that I put on my wishlist. I think it’s so pretty. I love wearing a statement necklace to dress up an outfit. When I first took it out of the box, I was afraid that it was going to be too dressy, but I ended up wearing it with a basic white t-shirt and a cardigan and loved it. I think I’d be more likely to purchase the more classic items, and leave the trendier items, like this necklace, to wear and have fun with and then send back. I do love it, but I just don’t know if I’d wear it enough to make it worth my money.
What do you think? Would you keep any of the pieces??
**I was not paid for this review, but I did receive a free trial. If you sign up using my referral link, I do get a credit towards future boxes. All opinions are my own, as always!**

I tried rocksbox free but wasn’t a fan. I can get cuter, better quality pieces at our local Southern California jewelry shows and even TJ Maxx. The earrings I got lost a huge crystal after 4 wearings. Cancelled after the first box.

I’m loving Rocksbox! I love all three things you got but any long necklaces I’ve gotten I’ve sent back, mostly because it seems impractical with toddlers. 😛

I’ve been having so much fun with Rocksbox! Originally I only planned on doing my one free month but got sucked into it.

I’d keep the cuff–so cute and could get a lot of wear!
