After our tour of the Cascadian Farm home farm, we stayed the night just down the road a bit at Ovenells Heritage Inn. Concrete is a small town, with a population of just over 700 people. Ovenells is located on a working ranch in Concrete.
Ovenells is made up of several small cabins, as well as 3 guest houses. If you are looking for 5 star accommodations, you have come to the wrong place, but if you are looking for charm, this is your place. I was actually very excited when I first walked into the cabin. It was kind of fun to have this whole space to myself.
The cabin was clean and so quiet and peaceful. Honestly, I wish I would have had some extra time there and I’m sure I would have spent plenty of time sitting on the porch swing, just enjoying the view and how serene it was. And the fireplace! The cabin had a gas fireplace that acted as the heater, and it was a chilly night so it was extra cozy to have the fireplace running to keep me warm.
I didn’t see the accommodations in the guest houses, but I enjoyed my stay in the Fisherman cabin. The cabin had a small kitchen, which would be ideal if you were staying for any period of time since the town is quite small.
Ovenells is open year round, and I would love to find my way back up there one day to stay again. It is a great place to stay if you are visiting the North Cascades for any hiking or camping. The views are amazing, and I loved how peaceful it was.
