Description
A family favorites – these Oatmeal Scotchies are filled with oats and butterscotch chips and are soft and chewy.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups old fashioned oats
- 1 3/4 cups butterscotch chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375ºF.
Cream shortening and butter with vanilla until smooth. Add both of the sugars and cream until smooth. Add eggs and beat well. Add baking powder, baking soda, salt and spices. Mix well. Add flour a little at a time. Mix in oats and butterscotch chips. Drop by tablespoon sized balls onto baking sheet.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
