Sometimes, the best parts of a vacation are the most unexpected.
When our Yellowstone trip was planned, we left some time unplanned and open for finding things to do. On the list of things that many of the kids wanted to do was to go horseback riding.
As luck would have it, just down the road from where we stayed was Eagle Ridge Ranch. When we checked into what they had to do, we found out it was horseback riding and so much more.
On our last full day in Island Park, most of the family headed over for a horseback riding adventure. I didn’t go, as I didn’t have my husband there, and I knew I couldn’t take 3 young children horseback riding by myself. So we headed off on a different adventure, but from what my family later told me, it was a great ride with great guides.
But after the horseback riding, we were allowed to take advantage of many of the other amenities offered at Eagle Ridge Ranch. And if I were to guess, I’d guess that this was the best day of the vacation for all of the kids.
I honestly thought we’d be there for an hour or two, but our family was there until the sun went down (witnessing an amazing sunset!) There are all kinds of fun activities – a pond with a swing, perfect for swimming, several ponds that are stocked with fish for fishing, archery, canoeing, and more!
The ranch is well maintained and the people working there were as nice as could be. They also have cabins available for rent, which I definitely think we should check out next time!!
The day spent at the ranch was definitely a favorite. There was a lot to do for kids and adults of all ages. It’s definitely worth scheduling some family time there!!
