There is one event that is on my calendar every year here in Utah.
The Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point.
I went for the first time 4 years ago when Abbi was just a baby, and we have been back every year since. And leave it to springtime in Utah – there have been years that have been so hot that we can barely get through it, and other years – like this year – where we practically froze. The threat of rain and a freezing wind almost stopped us yesterday, but we forged ahead and spent a few hours walking through the gardens, marveling at how beautiful the flowers are. With over 250,000 tulips spread out over the 55-acres of gardens, it’s hard not to be impressed.
I’ll keep it short because there are a lot of photos included here. (You’ll get a glimpse at my normal photo taking. I have a bit of a obsession with taking 11 million photos.) But photos are really all that do this festival justice.
Even though it was freezing outside, the flowers somehow made me feel the spring spirit! If you are in Utah, you need to head over to Thanksgiving Point before the festival ends!! (The original date that the festival was supposed to end is the 27th, but I heard a rumor that it has been extended…)
