When I travel, I usually plan everything around the food. In fact, usually, the food is the main attraction.
So even though our little getaway was a short one, I wanted to make sure I at least got in a couple of places to eat. And one of the top places on my list was Eva’s Bakery.
I had been hearing about this Parisian style bakery, and knew that I had to visit the first chance I had. And shortly after checking into our hotel, I was so excited knowing that this bakery was right down the street from where we were staying. In fact, I could see the vibrant blue storefront from out of our hotel window!
When I first walked in, I knew I would like the bakery. Fresh artisan breads lined the wall, and breads, cakes and pastries were along the front. I seriously wanted to try one of everything – and if I was downtown more often, I probably would!
Beyond the bread and pastries, they also serve up breakfast and light lunches. I would love to go back another time to try their pizza or their fritatas. I actually visited Paris many years ago, but wasn’t into food as much, as well as being on a tight budget, so I’ve always felt like I missed out. But with a bakery like Eva’s, I can get a taste of Paris without hopping on an airplane!!
Since we had dinner reservations and our trip was so short, I opted to just get a few things for us to snack on. Everything was delicious, and both my husband and I indulged at bit too much before we headed to dinner. But it was well worth it!!
If you are going to be in downtown Salt Lake City, Eva’s should definitely be on your list!

Love Eva’s bakery! I’ve been several times now and I haven’t found one thing I didn’t like. Their country baguette was superb and next time you’re there for breakfast you have to try the brunch pie. In fact, I’m going to go ahead and invite myself along next time! 🙂
