A week ago, my husband, kids and I headed down to a local event that was put on – the Taste of the Valley. There were lots of different local restaurants that had samples of their food that you could go around and try. Since we don’t eat out a ton, this was a great way for us to try out lots of different restaurants!!
There were so many different things to try – I have to admit that we didn’t even make it through half of them. I guess we should have worked on stretching out our stomachs before we went down!!
Here is just a sampling of what we had:
Pancakes with Buttermilk Syrup from Marley’s
My little foodie in the making!! (Just kidding – she’s actually pretty picky, but I’m glad she was at least trying things!)
Red velvet cupcakes from Cupcake Chic
a sample plate from Goodwood Barbecue : some of the live entertainment
And my favorite of the day, the Rock Shrimp Nachos from the Harvest Restaurant at Thanksgiving Point. I’ve been really wanting to go to Harvest, and now I really want to go! It looks like it’s time for a date night with my husband!
This was such a fun event to go to. If you couldn’t make it, I would definitely plan on going next year. And if you don’t live here, so many towns have events like this one and I would highly recommend checking one out. This was such a great way to try out multiple restaurants, and a great way to spend a couple of hours with family!
