Out of all of the Daring Bakers challenges that have been presented since I joined over a year ago, this is the one I have been most looking forward to. And I blame myself for waiting until the last minute, because circumstances prevented me from making the wonderful Eclairs that were picked. Last week, we discovered a leak in our ceiling. The leak is caused by our central air that was installed incorrectly, so we have been living with a hole in the room of our bedroom, and no central air. And cooking with no central air when the temperature has been in the 90s? Maybe if I wasn’t pregnant!!
The temperature is supposed to be down tomorrow, so I may attempt these, but do go check out all of the other creations!!

Oh no!!!! I sure hope you get everything fixed soon. Being hot and pregnant is no fun….(spoken by a woman who has done pregnancy in both FL and South GA…NO FUN!!!). I also procrastinated…I did my challenge today. And it didn’t turn out as planned. Ah well. On to next month.

man that is so not fan having AC in hot weather. i wouldnt be cooking either.

That is horrible! I don’t think I’d be able to sleep. We had a hole like that in our ceiling once…but it was because my dad stepped through it! We were getting ready to sell the house…bad timing! Hope you get to do the eclairs at some point.
It doesn’t get that hot here very often – but we don’t have central air either. That said I HATE turning on the oven when it is hot so I understand. Do make them though, they are good.
Ughh! I’ve been there. We bought a fixer upper when I was pregnant with our second daughter and had to move in before the a/c was installed due to money issues. That was a VERY long Florida summer. Hope your a/c gets fixed soon!

Wow! Sorry about your troubles. Hope the air conditioning gets fixed ASAP! Pregnancy certainly doesn’t make it any easier to with stand the heat, either. Stay well. Next month you will be able to play with DBs again.

Ugh. I was ready to deliver my second child smack in the middle of August, and the idea of having to bake in that heat with no cooling, um, no. The cupcakes are looking pretty scrumptious. I’d say that you’ll get around to the eclairs and that when you do, they’ll be great!
