Another month is coming to a close, so it’s time to say goodbye to another cookbook of the month. This month’s cookbook – The Cookie Book – has found a permanent place on my bookshelf. I probably had the hardest time choosing my four recipes, just because this book is so packed full of amazing recipes. And I can’t remember exactly, but I think I bought it for only $6 at Costco!! If I would have only known how good it was going to be, I would have bought more copies to give away!

Now, if you think this is just a book about cookies, you would be wrong. Despite the title, this book is packed full of not only cookie recipes, but brownies, bars, crackers, muffins, and scones. Not your typical cookie book!! This book will especially come in handy when I have kids one day, because there are a lot of cookies that would be a ton of fun for kids, including silly face cookies and cookie necklaces.

Not only does it have over 400 recipes, but it also has over 1700 photos – many of them being step-by-step pictures. I don’t think there is a single recipe that doesn’t have a picture of the finished cookie. And I know how important photos are to so many cookbook enthusiasts!!

The other thing I really like about this cookbook is that it shows measurements for both weight and volume. A year ago, I wouldn’t have cared – but after reading blogs and watching Alton Brown the past year, I know that a recipe baked with weight measurements is a lot better. I even purchased a kitchen scale, and have been using it whenever possible.

Overall, I’m really pleased with this book and can’t wait to make more from it. Like I mentioned in a previous post, I’m not sure if the link I’ve provided to Amazon is for the exact cookbook (mine is a paperback copy), but even if it’s not exactly the same, it’s probably just as good!

Recipes Made from The Cookie Book:

Chocolate Caramel Nuggets
Praline Pavlova Cookies
Marbled Chocolate Caramel Slice
Choc-Tipped Cookies

I’ve already said what was chosen as the cookbook of the month for April – The Pastry Queen by Rebecca Rather and Alison Oresman. I am super excited for this month’s book and it comes with rave reviews from several food bloggers that I know. I haven’t received my copy yet (hurry up Amazon!!) but I’m excited to go through it once I do. This should be a fun month!!

I am also going to start a week long series that I have been working on tomorrow. So I won’t have my usual posting for the cookbook of the month on Friday, but next week I will post about the first 2 recipes from the book instead. But do come back tomorrow, because I am really excited about this series, and have been thinking about doing it for some time!
