Samsung LCD Refrigerator {and a giveaway!}
Filed under ContestsJul 25My current home has taught me a lot about what I want in my next home. Like more than 1 bathroom. And a walk in closet. And a much better refrigerator.
Meet my refrigerator. Sure, from the outside she doesn’t look so bad. That’s what I thought when I picked her out. But little did I know…
You see, my husband and I bought our house a few months after we got married. We weren’t really looking to buy a house, but we happened upon this house through an acquaintance. It was basically stripped down. No floors, no appliances, no fixtures. This house was built in the 1950s, and the person we bought the house from had started a total remodel of the house but ran out of time and money. So we took on quite the project.
I won’t even go into what a pain it was and how I will never again remodel an entire house, (some people are great at this – I am not). But one good thing that came out of the whole thing is my kitchen. To say that the kitchen is my favorite room in the house is an understatement. I love this room. But the fridge – that’s a whole ‘nother story. Where the refrigerator is, there is a little cubby area that it scoots back into. When we went to buy a fridge, we had to buy basically the smallest refrigerator on the market to fit in that cubby. And I have since learned that a fridge is one of the most important parts of the kitchen. We are currently in the process of selling our house, and I know that in our next house, the fridge will be a lot different!
Enter in the Samsung LCD Refrigerator. Wow. Now that’s a fridge. This is so much more than a refrigerator. It’s a large capacity refrigerator. For me, that would mean no more taking everything out and reorganizing it all so it can fit after going to the grocery store. It has a FlexZone drawer – the perfect height for children to reach in to grab a snack! And this baby makes up to 7 ½ pounds of ice a day. That is huge for an ice-water addict like me. And one of the coolest features is that it has an 8” LCD WiFi screen with apps! Imagine – WiFi for the fridge! I will admit that as much as I want to be that ultra-organized person, it rarely happens for me. This refrigerator would definitely help me in that area! You can leave notes for your loved ones, display photos, listen to music, tweet, and access your Google calendar. And one of my favorite features? You can access hundreds of recipes from Epicurious! Now if only I could get it to do the dishes after dinner…

We only have two appliances that were originally in our home (we’ve been here 3 years and replaced most): our dishwasher and our range.
My ideal appliance would be a range that has two ovens – it would be perfect for big family meals.
I could use the smaller oven for side dishes and rolls and pies, while the larger oven could roast a turkey or ham.

My dream appliance would clean my bathroom. I don’t know why I dread that task so much. Probably because I always put it off way too long so I end up making twice the work for myself. Until then, though, I think a fridge with WiFi could make me very happy. Or an ice cream maker, which a $100 Best Buy gift card would get me.

My dream appliance would do a much better job than I do of keeping the carpet free of dog hair! I can fill my Dyson’s canister half full by vacuuming just one room. Does that mean I don’t vacuum enough? Or is our dog just super excellent at shedding? Either way, it’s uber-gross! And ding-dang, but I was hoping that the lovely folks at Samsung had given you that fridge to give away. I’m sure it’s awesome. My washer and dryer are by Samsung, and they rock!

As simple as this sounds, I want a really good quality vacuum cleaner that won’t break down on me ( like all of the others have) that is also easy or light enough that I can vacuum the stairs of my house without making me exhausted. Currently, for the stairs, I’m using a dust buster…and it just not do the trick!

My dream appliance would clean up after the kids and dogs. It would load and unload the dishwasher, clean the toilets, sweep and mop the entire house, vacuum the carpets, wash fold and put away the laundry and dust. It would also cook dinner, go grocery shopping, and give the kids a bath. My dream appliance would be small and compact, and it would put it’s self away when the cleaning is finished, and sense when the house needed cleaning, and get it’s self back out.

My dream appliance would let me give it a recipe, it would order all the items I didn’t have from the store, have them delivered and ready to make that night-it would chop, dice, etc. so I didn’t have to do the drudge work–best of all, it would peel celery, poratoes and other veggies! WOW I hate that job! So all I’d have to do to make dinner is pull up the recipe, grap the pans I need and cook. See my problem is I love to cook but hate to prep–this wasn’t bad when my kids lived at home, I just uh…dare I say, palmed it off on them, but now that they’ve moved out I’m once again having to do all the drudge work! Don’t mind cleaning up, just hate the prep–of course a housekeeper/cook would solve my problems just as well!

I would want to have the capability for both my fridge & freezer a way to plug in how many pears, apples, gallons of milk etc and have the fridge. What a huge organizing option that would be especially after shopping day. I would want it to not only tell me when their expirations are coming up, but to subtract each item when each one is taken and used. I would want to be notified if the milks is going sour, or I only have 1 apple left, or the butter supply is down to one stick. That way when I’m in the middle of making peach cobbler, and I haven’t realized that all but one peach has been gobbled up by our 4 children, I will know ahead of time if I have all of the ingredients instead of having to stop mid-recipe, waste gas and dash to the store among the plethora of other duties I have to get done during the day. Plus, having a huge garden, it would also come in handy on canning day. The fact that it’s so much bigger than my own refrigerator would make those tasks a walk in the park compared to the way I have to do it now!!!

My dream appliance is a self-organizing refrigerator that accepts return items through a trap door for energy efficiency and the frig knows where to put it and you request items by voice requests and the item comes out the same trap door. No more science experiments lurking in the back of the shelf since this frig knows when to reject out of date items and generates a printout for your shopping list on demand.

Since I was 9 years old my parents made me wash, dry and put away the dishes everynight, in a household of 6 people this was never an easy nor fun task. Now as a mother of 2 sons ages 9 and 11, I just cannot bare to force that burden on them. My husband would love to buy me a dishwasher but our income just does not allow it. So my dream appliance would not only clean the dishes efficiently without having to rinse first but also dry them. It would also teach my sons the virtue of hard work by convincing them to want to put the dishes away but the dishwasher would of course supervise to make sure they were placed in the correct place. OOOh if only this dream could come true it would take such a burden and heartache off my shoulders and teach my sons some responsability!

My dream appliance would be a shopping refrigerator. It would know what it is missing and able to order and stock spontaneously. There would be no more searching for meals, spoiled food, or running to the grocery store at the last minute in which whenever your in a hurry the lines are the longest and filled with the rudest people along with the slowest cashier. I would never have to deal with the long lines or the cross contamination from the baggers or ever be overcharged by a cashier for my groceries again. This is turn would give me quality time with my family as well as quality meals and also more time to do something a little more exciting that grocery shopping!

My dream washing machine would automatically wash and dry the clothes. The user (me) would sort the soiled laundry into bins. When a bin contains a full load, the machine adds the pre-determined laundry additives for that bin, empties the bin into the machine, and washes the clothing according to the pre-set cycle. When the clothes are washed, the machine sends a text to the user (me) asking if it should proceed to dry the clothes or wait until a later time that is set by texting. The clothes are dried according to a pre-set cycle for that clothes bin. A few minutes before the clothes are dry, the machine sends another text to the user (me) with notification that the clothes are almost dry.
