Snickerdoodles
Filed under Dessert - CookiesMar 9
What do you do when you are babysitting your sister’s kids, and you are trying to keep 2 twin boys occupied? You make cookies!! I’ve always dreamed of having my kids help me in the kitchen. But since my little girl is still to young to help, I was excited when I had the chance to have these two handsome boys help me out a couple of weeks ago.
We decided to make some cookies for when their brother and sisters came home from school that day. They had fun putting the ingredients into the mixer and then watching as the mixer went round and round. The best part, though?
Eating a fresh baked cookie! The hardest part? Waiting for their brother and sisters to get home from school so that they could have more!Snickerdoodles
from Dry Creek Classics1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
cinnamon and sugarCream shortening or butter and sugar, add eggs and mix in thoroughly. Combine dry ingredients. Mix dry into the creamed mixture. Roll in sugar and cinnamon. Bake at 400F for 8-10 minutes.

So true! Kids LOVE to bake cookies. And snickerdoodles are usually a big hit. What's not to like?
I bet all the neighborhood kids want you to babysit![Reply]

Cookie baking, especially snickerdoodles which scream little kid food, is the best way to keep kids entertained. Kudos to you for doing this instead of sticking them in front of a television!

I'm hoping my 6 mo. old son, we grow up and love to cook with his mom someday, you know, until he gets older and it's "not cool"!
